Associate of Arts

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements must be met for an Associate of Arts (AA) award:
   1.  Earn a minimum of 60 college-level credit hours.
   2.  Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
   3.  Complete the general education core curriculum of 42 credit hours.
   4.  Complete a minimum of 18 additional credit hours of degree requirements and 
         electives that are specified on each program's page.
   5.  Earn a minimum of 15 credit hours at Collin College.

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS FIELDS OF STUDY
Below are state-recognized AA Fields of Study (FOS) Transfer Curricula. Students completing the required FOS courses, for a specific FOS, will be awarded a Certificate.  The FOS is guaranteed to freely transfer to Texas public colleges, toward that specific area.  The FOS courses are equivalent to the first two years of program coursework in a related bachelor's degree. A FOS may be completed in conjunction with an associate degree.

     *  Business (AA or certificate)
     *  Criminal Justice (AA or certificate)
     *  Political Science (AA)
     *  Psychology (AA or certificate)
     *  Sociology (AA or certificate)
